I found a wonderful new blog, courtesy of Pyraxis, my partner. It is all about linguistics and anthropology. It’s called TalkToYoUniverse. Now I will have fancy names for all the things I do to play with words. My hope is that I will get better at it. The woman who writes it is holding a workshop for people who write fiction that incorporates language and culture.
It will be interesting to see what she thinks of my worlds – I have several, including a quasi-fictional earth. They are all connected by a place with gates that open to each world. The crossroads world connects all of mine with Pyraxis’ two and with Dirt, which is their name for Earth. Its fun to go play there. And its a great distraction while I wait for my favorite authors to publish something else for me to devour.
Meanwhile, I am going to experiment with making this blog into my secretary – actually not this one, because I’ve decided to use it for what it says – altered things. Currently I am working on a rsakk battle song – based on a hannukah song by Peter Paul and Mary called “Don’t Let the Light Go Out”
